Sophia Bush is part of the talented ensemble behind Chicago P.D., and last season’s finale had Lindsay (Bush) caught up in a career crisis after handing Voight (Jason Beghe) her badge. But with Halstead’s (Jesse Lee Soffer) life endangered, Lindsay’s days with the unit is far from over.
Chicago P.D. is a well-written series that’s blessed with a talented ensemble, and shooting in a picaresque metropolis is also one of the show’s perks. But Chicago is dubbed the Windy City for a purpose, and Sophia Bush talked about dealing with the area’s oftentimes freezing conditions.
“Most people who live in cities like Chicago are outside for very short periods of time when they go from their building to their car or they’re building to the train, and then the train or the car into their office. If we’re shooting an exterior scene, we’re outside for 12-16 hours and when it’s 30 below that’s a very trying experience. And while no one wants to hear people who are lucky enough to work on television complain, anyone who comes to visit our set tries to leave as quickly as possible.”
I asked Sophia Bush if she’s developed an immunity to the Chicago cold. In hindsight, that was a stupid question! Here’s her answer below (she also talks about a much needed gift that she and the rest of the cast gave to the Chicago P.D. crew:
