There’s a ton of stuff to love with the upcoming NBC series Great News (I recently checked out the pilot). One of the takeaways is that Nicole Richie, who plays a trend obsessed cable news co-host on the show, has acting chops (anda a natural flair for comedy).
Maybe Richie was a natural thespian out of the box, but one reason behind her seamless transition from business owner/fashion designer to actress may partly be due to Great News’ working environment.
“This is my first series,” said Richie. “Everybody on the show said ‘you don’t know even know what you’ve walked into, it is not this great all the time.’ I looked forward to going to work every day. We had down time together – we just loved being together. I loved being with the producers. It was a family environment. There (wasn’t) any sort of separation. Everybody was truly one. It was awesome.”
In the video, Richie talks about how she balances motherhood, House of Harlow 1960, and Great News:
Great News, co-starring Briga Heelan and Andrea Martin, premieres Tuesday, April 25 on NBC (9/8c).
