The Voiceseason 10 winner and Los Angeles based singer/songwriter Alisan Porterhas a special place in my heart,. as Curly Sue is one of the first movies I reviewed during my time as a UCLA Daily Bruin film critic. Though I’m a creature of habit, change is inevitable, and Porter explains why “change” is more than just the moniker of her latest single.

“Freedom. Acceptance. Love,” said Porter. “This is the change the world wants to see. What it needs to see. ‘Change’ is my anthem, a pact with one another, to be the change we want to see”.
Along with her July 25th performance on NBC’s The Today Show, Porter is also releasing her independent EP I Come in Pieces on August 11. It’s a collection, I’m definitely looking forward, as I’m absolutely a fan of the gospel and soul tinged track“Deep Water.”
The EP, written in just six days during a trip to Nashville, TN, features collaborations with Jason Reeves, Stephony Smith, and producer Greg Wells (Elton John, Adele). I Come In Pieces features the following tracks: 1. Deep Water 2. Change 3. Enough 4. Reckless 5. I Come In Pieces
