Sigrid Continues Creative “Vibe” With U.S. Tour And ‘Plot Twist’ Stylings

An intriguing artist on the rise is Sigrid, a 20-year-old whose career has taken off with the success of her debut single “Don’t Kill My Vibe.” Details on the Norwegian artist and her first U.S. tour is available after the jump.

As witnessed with her latest track “Plot Twist,” Sigrid can craft catchy pop confections, but it’s her songwriting as well as her distinct vocals that are absolute standouts. Most singers sound just fine behind a memorable beat, but Sigrid’s longevity will also be attributed to her songwriting. Check out these following lines from “Dynamite,” my favorite track from her Don’t Kill My Vibe EP:

“Your hand is warm but my heart is blue/ Is blue now
I miss you, but I’ve got things to do
Oh, I wish we had a common view
You’ve seen my red as blue”

“Dynamite,” to me, is essentially a Joni Mitchell/Sia mash-up (I mean that in a good way), and it will be interesting to see how she develops as an artist in the coming years.
